Amino selected by ADC for first IPTV service in Thailand

Amino today confirms that it was selected by Siemens for the first IPTV deployment in Thailand. The deployment for ADC (Advanced Datanetwork Communication Co. Ltd) has been rolled out to a substantial number of homes in Thailand for several months adding on-demand and broadcast television channels to the company's existing broadband service offering. Over the last months, ADC has witnessed the proven reliability and high quality of the AmiNET set-top boxes.

TANDBERG Television's Mediaplex-20 headends used for Japan-wide MPEG-4 IPTV

On Demand TV — the joint venture of NTT West (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corp.) and Itochu — will expand its deployment of TANDBERG Television’s Mediaplex-20 based video headends to support MPEG-4 Part 10 (H.264/AVC) delivery for its nationwide IPTV roll-out in Japan.

Optibase supplying MPEG-4 Part 10 headend for Indian IPTV roll-out

India's state-owned telco, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) is about to add video to its voice and data services around Delhi and Mumbai and the company supplying its video services has selected Optibase's IPTV MGW 5100 platforms for its IPTV headend. With this deployment, Optibase encoders will be the industry's first to enable large-scale IPTV in India. MTNL is targeting 3.9 million subscribers with its IPTV offering.

Harmonic MPEG-4 Part 10 encoders deliver broadcast TV for HanseNet IPTV

Telecom Italia subsidiary HanseNet (HanseNet Telekommunikation GmbH), is adding television to its existing telephone and DSL services with a launch in Hamburg within the next few months, followed by a nationwide roll-out in Germany. The service will include 100 standard-definition broadcast TV channels plus VOD. If the deployment continues on schedule, the company could beat Deutsche Telekom to market with IPTV services. Deutsche Telekom says it will roll out IPTV to ten cities covered by its new VDSL network as soon as the high-speed infrastructure is working, and a spokesman says that will be “mid-year”.

China Telecom Selects Alcatel to Upgrade DSL Network for Triple Play Service Delivery

February 6th, 2006 — Alcatel today announced that China Telecom, the largest fixed telecommunication service provider in China, has selected Alcatel to upgrade its existing broadband access network across 26 provinces in China to prepare for triple play service delivery. This agreement was signed through Alcatel Shanghai Bell, Alcatel's flagship Chinese company.
