 Dr. Horst Melcher assumed his current position on April 1, 2001. As Country Manager Japan of Deutsche Telekom AG, he represents and oversees all interests Deutsche Telekom AG is pursuing in Japan.
Upon completion of a doctorate program in Business Administration at Technische Universitaet Darmstadt, Germany in 1981, based on an Engineering degree from the same University in 1976, Dr. Melcher started an international management career path with the German chemical/pharmaceutical firm Boehringer Ingelheim, from Toronto, Canada (1981-85) to Buenos Aires, Argentina (1985-89) and Osaka, Japan (1996-98).
